Day 0 – Grooves
Thank you for joining us on Day 0 of the 7-Day (technically 8) Amenti MoveMeant Challenge. Before we dive into the main content, you may want to start with some practice. So, we’ll begin with one of the most basic—yet essential—movements: grooves.
It may sound simple, but if you’ve ever forgotten the salt, pepper, and garlic in your pasta sauce, you know that without the basics, your dish may be liquid, but that doesn’t make it sauce.
Without the fundamentals of grooves and rocking, we lack a solid foundation to build upon—a starting point from which to progress with all the other movements we want to incorporate. Think of grooves as a calibrating point, a balancing point that you can always return to.
Grooves connect us to music and our internal rhythms. We often find ourselves grooving automatically when we hear music we like; it’s a beautiful reaction of the body, showing us what we enjoy.
